About us

COAC Foundation is a frontline Humanitarian Organization supporting Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children under the direct care of the poor old and weak grandparents with virtually no assured informal or formal support to meet the very basic needs of life in the rural hard to reach Ssese Islands that form Kalangala District situated in Lake Victoria.

We emphasize OVCs under the care of the weak, poor and old grandparents in Ssese Islands because we believe that is where urgent need is greatest. The drops of developments in Uganda reach rural communities last and if extended in the hard-to-reach and hard-to-stay Island communities, the already weak, poor and old persons especially women, are hardly thought of. If at all considered in any progressive initiatives; they can rarely meet the minimum terms and conditions set out to benefit from such programs thus their orphaned grandchildren being unfairly rendered victims of circumstances.
